Water is important to every household for drinking, cooking, bathing, cleaning, and landscaping. Water use has increased steadily over time, and conserving our water supply has
become increasingly necessary. Water conservation as a way
of life can help to lessen the likelihood of future water
shortages.

Although 75% of the Earth's surface is covered by water,
only 0.6% of it is fresh water and available to be used in
the home.

 Transportation Tire pollution

Under inflated tires can have a slight impact on fuel economy.
According to a 2006 Congressional mandated TRB study
on fuel efficiency, passenger car and light trucks use an
estimated 130 billion gallons of fuel per year. In addition,
DOE’s designated economist on this issue estimates that
vehicles with under inflated tires waste approximately
1.2 billion gallons of fuel per year due to the increased
resistance of the tires.

Reduce your carbon footprint so that you can buy
fewer carbon credits next time. Replace all of your
incandescent light bulbs with CFL’s. Join a carpool. Buy locally-grown organic food. Install solar panels. Start your
own compost pile in the backyard. Reduce. Reuse. Recycle.
